How to Apply

  • 1. Complete the online application.

    Applications, along with a $100 application fee, are due by December 15, 2017. To be considered as a legacy, an application from a student who is a sibling of an existing or former student or the child of a ROBS alum is due by November 1, 2017.

    Once an application is submitted, an Admission Checklist will be established for your child in your website account.
  • 2. Attend a tour or open house.

    All parents are required to attend a tour or open house. Use the Schedule a Visit online form, or call the Admission Office at 713.623.6938 to register. (Parents only, please, due to space constraints.)

  • 3. Interview with the Admission Office.

    After submitting an application and visiting campus, parents are invited to attend a parent interview.  Parents can schedule the interview by following the link located in your child’s admission checklist.  Interviews take place between September and December.
  • 4. Schedule an Individual Evaluation

    This test is administered by Collaborative Academic Testing Service (CATS). Please register directly with CATS to schedule your child’s individual evaluation. Please contact CATS by December 1 as the testing results are due to ROBS by January 15. Results may be shared with other schools to which the student is applying.
  • 5. Register for group testing.

    Each applicant is required to attend a one-hour classroom experience where skills are assessed in a small group setting. Group testing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. There are limited openings for group testing, and all spots may fill before the application deadline of December 10, 2017. Use the “Register for Group Testing” form in your child's admission checklist to register. A $50 group testing registration fee is required. Group testing for Kindergarten occurs on the following dates:

    January 6, 2018
    January 20, 2018
  • 6. Submit a Parent Questionnaire.

    Use the Parent Questionnaire form in your child's admission checklist to provide us information about your child and your family.
  • 7. Request a Teacher Recommendation Form.

    Download a Teacher Recommendation form from the admission checklist and send it to your child’s current teacher. Have the teacher return the completed form to the Admission Office by January 15, 2018.
  • Students applying for the 2018-19 Kindergarten class must be five years old by September 1, 2018 and must not turn six before June 1, 2018.
  • 28 to 35 new students are enrolled in Kindergarten.

  • You may submit an application now for your child’s entry in fall 2018 or later. Please indicate your preferred year of entry on your application.
  • Admission decisions are made on the basis of group testing, teacher recommendations, individual evaluation scores, and the parent questionnaire.
