Beyond ROBS

As much as we love to see ROBS students enriching our classrooms every day, we also love to see them move on to the next level, knowing they are well prepared to succeed wherever they go. Administrators from the city’s best public and private high schools tell us that they delight in enrolling ROBS graduates. We are proud of our students for earning such praise, and we are dedicated to helping families explore their options for high school so they can find the right match and make a smooth transition.

The process begins in seventh grade with a preparatory seminar for parents. The next year, parents of eighth graders attend our “Choosing a High School” seminar, which details the process and options to be considered. We offer individual counseling sessions to discuss the student’s middle school years and strategies for finding compatible high schools. We also conduct mock admission interviews with eighth graders to help them get comfortable with the process.

We see it as our mission to lay the groundwork for your child to succeed – in our school, in high school, and in whatever they choose to do in life. So whatever transitional support you or your student needs, we are here for you.

My son took the toughest freshman course load and excelled. We give great credit to ROBS. Beyond academics, these boys entered a new, unknown world full of self-sufficiency and a positive outlook, which speaks volumes about the ROBS foundation. Teachers refer to ROBS graduation as a day to 'weep for joy.' That is how I felt the first day of high school as I watched my son and his buddy walk off full of confidence after saying goodbye, and not looking back towards Mom.
