Lower School Summer Reading 2019

Grades 1 and 2
Students entering grades 1 and 2 are asked to read five books of their choice over the summer and bring their list, signed by a parent, to school on the first day back in August.
HAISLN List grades 1 & 2

3rd Grade & 4th Grade
Students entering third grade are asked to read two chapter books from the HAISLN list grades 3 & 4 , 1 book by visiting author Sarah Weeks, and two chapter books of their own choice. Bring a list of the books you read, signed by a parent, to school in August.

20 books for children from age two to grade two, chosen by the Children's Round Table, a unit of the Texas Library Association

Awarded to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children, chosen by the Association for Library Service to Children
Honors African-American authors and illustrators of outstanding books for children and young adults
Lone Star List
Recommended books for Middle School students, chosen by the Young Adult Round Table, a committee of the Texas Library Association
Awarded to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children, chosen by the Association for Library Service to Children
Awarded to a non-fiction book, chosen by the Association for Library Service to Children
