Report of Appreciation

Thanks to the abundant generosity of the ROBS family, we continue to offer the robust, well-rounded, and innovative education that sets us apart – grounding everything in faith in Jesus Christ and Christian principles. And the 2024-25 school year was no exception! With a record-breaking $1.89 million pledged to the annual giving campaign, your support of ROBS and our mission was overwhelming. Our Middle School students claimed nine HJPC championship titles last year, making 2024-25 the winningest year in school history. What a perfect metaphor for a fantastic year – thank you!

With grateful hearts, we share this Report of Appreciation for those who gave of their time, talent, and treasure during the 2024-25 school year. This webpage details the contributions made to ROBS between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025.

Annual Giving

The true cost of a ROBS education exceeds the amount of our tuition. Annual Giving gifts help cover the difference, accounting for about 5% of the School's operating budget. Annual Giving allows us to maintain a best-in-class educational experience. We are thankful for the 730 donors who pledged $1,891,889 towards Annual Giving in 2024-25.

We agreed to take on a leadership role in the Annual Giving Campaign because we want ROBS to be able to keep doing what it does best: stretching our children to their full potential. Our gifts over the years are an extension of our financial commitment to the education of our children because their experience has been and will continue to be meaningfully enhanced through these gifts.

Cornerstone Society

ROBS celebrates the 16th year of the Cornerstone Society, which recognizes Annual Giving donors of $10,000 and above. These special leadership gifts provide ROBS with significant resources to make a ROBS education possible for all our students. Cornerstone Society donors are honored each year during a seated dinner at The Bayou Club with Leanne Reynolds, Head of School, and other members of the Administrative Team.

We are grateful for the 63 donors who made Cornerstone level gifts this year.

1955 Society

Leadership donors to Annual Giving are a part of the 1955 Society. 1955 is the year ROBS was founded as a mission of River Oaks Baptist Church. We are grateful for these leadership gifts that allow ROBS to fulfill its mission every year.

Thank you to the 247 members of the 1955 Society this year who served as an example of philanthropy to our community.

River Oaks Baptist School Endowment Fund

River Oaks Baptist School established ROBSEF in 1990 as a separate 501(c)(3) to support the School’s educational endeavors. It not only provides long-term stability as a permanent source of income, it also spins off interest each year that supports ongoing programs. ROBSEF is the largest endowment among independent schools in the Houston area that end in eighth grade.

ROBSEF 5-Year Growth

ROBSEF directors distributed more than $1.8 million to the 2024-25 operating budget.

As of June 30, 2025, ROBSEF assets totaled $51,039,748.

Philanthropic Changemakers: ROBS' Next Chapter

In 2023, River Oaks Baptist School made a momentous announcement: The School had signed a deal to purchase 1.8 acres of additional land. A handful of community leaders and the ROBS Board of Trustees stepped up to make it happen. A total of 18 individual gifts and 18 trustee gifts enabled ROBS to move forward with the acquisition, and we are forever grateful.

2025 Pull for the Future Sporting Clays Tournament

ROBS hosted the biennial Sporting Clays Tournament on Monday, March 31, 2025. Thank you to Chairs Sarah and Bryant Lee and Jenni and Nick Swyka for their work to make this event a resounding success.

Community Volunteers

ROBS community members fill over 2,200 volunteer positions every year, translating into countless hours on and off campus. From serving daily in the lunchroom and library to coordinating large events like Grandparents and Special Friends Day and All-School Day of Service, we thank our volunteers for giving their time and talents to support all students, faculty, and staff at ROBS.

Volunteering with and for the ROBS community is always a delight. Whether serving on a field trip, MLK Service Day, Goodwill Ambassadors, or an Executive Committee meeting, I genuinely look forward to spending time with my kids, working alongside teachers, and problem solving with fellow parents. It has been a joy to find opportunities that suit my interests and my schedule.

Volunteer Leadership

Legacy Society

In 2000, the River Oaks Baptist School Legacy Society was established to recognize those who have made provisions in their wills or estate plans to benefit ROBS and those who have made other types of planned gifts to the School. Planned gifts include bequests, gifts of life insurance benefits, charitable lead trusts, charitable remainder trusts, gifts of real estate, charitable annuities, and other types of gifts to be realized in the future. A planned gift allows you to donate on your terms, during your lifetime or in your will, so you can make a significate contribution without affecting your current lifestyle. Many types of planned gifts also have built-in tax advantages. By including ROBS in your estate plans, you have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of our students, faculty, and the entire school community for generations to come.

Our children were able to attend ROBS because people who came before us supported the School and helped it grow. Now it’s our turn to pay it forward. We see it as one last gift we can give to acknowledge the love we have for the School and the ROBS community. A gift through the Legacy Society is our way of trying to return some of what our family has received from ROBS.
