Art is the very core of our identity as humans. Scientists estimate the earliest cave drawings and primitive musical instruments made of bone and ivory were created more than 40,000 years ago. The arts are valuable for their own sake, and they serve as the perfect link between other subjects like math, history, language, and science. The arts play an essential role in our curriculum, which is designed to introduce young students to all art forms, with an emphasis on process over product in the early grades. Kids unleash creativity while learning the value of practice and self-discipline. And they grow in confidence and poise as they overcome the butterflies associated with public performance.
Through robust arts programming, we aim for every young mind to become a broad canvas of enlightened and creative thinking, and for every ROBS student to see the world with more beauty, curiosity, and awe.
Pablo Picasso famously said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” Art is woven into the fabric of student life at ROBS, encouraging creativity, imagination, and problem-solving.
