Student Support

River Oaks Baptist School is committed to supporting the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—through a coordinated, developmentally responsive approach tailored to each student’s individual needs.

Preschool

Children grow and develop in similar patterns, but each child develops at his or her own pace. That means young children begin each school year at different places in their physical, intellectual, social, and emotional trajectory. Our teachers know and plan for this, designing learning activities that will nurture and support your child, exactly where she is developmentally.

Lower School

Learning is a developmental process, but not necessarily a linear one. At any point, a child may be soaring in one area and struggling in another. She may take two steps forward, then one step back. Patterns like this are completely expectable. Our Lower School Student Support Team, comprised of the Director of Learning Support, Learning and Reading Specialists, Instructional Coaches, and Lower School Counselor, stand ready to observe, coach, and assist students, teachers, and parents.

Middle School

The Middle School years are a time of explosive growth for children. That’s why we keep a close eye not only on academic progress, but also on students’ social and emotional wellbeing. Our Middle Counselor, Director of Learning Support, Learning Specialist, and Instructional Coach work closely with classroom teachers to assess students’ needs and recommend appropriate interventions.
