We have two all-school service opportunities per year. One occurs during a school day and includes a buddy activity. The second occurs on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, which Congress has designated as a national day of service.
Every grade-level team selects one service project for the year that furthers a particular strand. Each project must include three parts: Students will (1) learn about the issue the project seeks to address; (2) participate in a hands-on activity that helps to address it; and (3) reflect on their experience in a structured way (e.g., through a drawing, poem, essay, group project, etc.).
