A Message to Our Community
Since 1955, ROBS has occupied a singular place in Houston’s educational landscape – academically challenging, unapologetically playful, heartily competitive, joyfully Christian. Our unique blend of ambitious academics rooted in abiding Christian values gives our students a strong foundation of mind and heart that serves them throughout their lives. We know our approach works and will continue to lead us well into the future. This strategic plan builds on our history to set an aspirational vision to guide our School in the years to come.
In January 2024, at the direction of the Board of Trustees, the School engaged consultants Future Design School to help us look ahead to ROBS’ next chapter. As part of the 10-month process, we surveyed our faculty, staff, board members, parents, church members, and even some students. In April 2024, inperson meetings on campus presented an opportunity for the Administration and Board to think critically about what our community believes to be the strengths as well as areas for growth of our School.
Through a collaborative effort to organize and refine the many ideas gathered in the spring, three broad concepts emerged to frame the plan: Ambitious Academics for Future Ready Students, Strong Community Rooted in Wellbeing, and Long Term Operational Success. As you’ll see in the following pages, each pillar is accompanied by more specific goals. In fall 2024, we developed action items for each goal along with a five-year timeline for implementation.
Rooted in a Firm Foundation, Growing in Excellence is the result of this thoughtful process to set strategic priorities for ROBS through 2029. The plan was formally adopted by the Board of Trustees on October 25, 2024, and implementation will begin in the 2024-25 school year. ROBS will periodically report to the community on progress toward the various goals articulated in the plan.
